RestaurantsBergamo to best celebrate the end of the year Bergamo Brescia Capital of Culture 2023,
celebrates the Accademia Carrara and the new exhibition «Tutti in voi la luce mia»,
scheduled from 29 September to 14 January 2024.
An exhibition on the masterpieces of Romanticism, where melodrama meets art.
The unusual title of the exhibition is immediately explained: it is one of the verses from Donizetti's Anna Bolena,
a way to pay homage to the world of opera and music, in particular the composer from Bergamo.
RestaurantsBergamo thus celebrates culture by reinterpreting the exhibition and presenting 27 different dishes in 27 restaurants
in the city and province associated with the group: variations and interpretations
of the art of Romanticism and the music of that era.
Traditional Bergamo dishes, reinterpretations in the name of Gaetano but also,
and not only, of the famous Bacio d Hayez.
Any examples? Here is “Nemorino and the tear of Andina”, a medallion of beef in a
pistachio crust on Fortiva Lagrima fondue,
a cheese from Caseificio Defendi made in honor of the memory of Gaetano Donizetti.
Or: “Risotto Garibaldi”, Carnaroli risotto with fresh tomato puree,
burrata flakes, basil and crunchy bread powder. A way of presenting
the Risorgimento at the table, to celebrate the unification of Italy and
the end of the nineteenth century.
A simple but symbolic dish with the colors of the Italian flag from south to north,
the red of the tomato, the green of the basil and the white of the burrata.
We are sure that the hero of the two worlds would have liked it too."
